"It was the morning of September 19, 1985, in Mexico City when I was awaken by a movement and the weirdest sensation. Everything in my surroundings was so fragile, and at the same time so dangerous, even the roof on top of my head; I had just survived one of the strongest earthquake in Mexico City.
I took this picture that day in front of the once famous Regis-Hotel, which was in flames after the earthquake. All the city was in chaos, everybody trying to help and rescue people from the debris of collapsed buildings. It was like we were under fire, at war, for just less than a minute, that for thousands was their last"
